ED2 Extremdron

The ED2 EXTREMDRON project aims to service multiple market niches that are related to protecting the public health and safety, performing security monitoring missions, monitoring toxic chemicals in the air during industrial disasters, and protecting public and critical infrastructures. These market niches have yet to be exploited due to the performance and sensing limitations of the current commercial UAV available today. The ED2 EXTREMDRON project aims to solve these limitations by leveraging existing aerospace materials, thermal coatings, and the integration of specialized chemical monitoring sensors.

The ED2 will provide a reliable aerial monitoring platform with the addition of radiation detectors to map the radiation and contamination levels in a defined area and calculate the spread of radioactivity more accurately. The ED2-NUC would also be a highly valuable tool for collecting data for the European Community Urgent Radiological Information Exchange (ECURIE).
