About the Job

AERDRON focuses on developing the nexgen of UAV platforms, and smart technologies. You will be responsible for prototyping software, electro-mechanical systems, communications software, and custom computer hardware. Our projects range from one of a kind units, to production ready products.

You will be responsible for creating significant portions of the software development. This will range from initial concept development, architecture, and to certification. The goal is to develop robust software platforms that will operate consistently in the harshest of applications. You will work closely with the rest of the AERDRON development team to make sure that we are delivering the very best engineered solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop control systems, operating software, and hardware for UAV/RPAS
  • Design and implementation of custom software, and application development ( C/C++, python , ROS )
  • Architecture development in conjunction with our electrical engineers
  • Develop prototypes using microcontrollers, Udroid, Arduino, Amtel
  • Develop custom applications using ROS.
  • Develop ground control software, and GUI
  • Develop drivers for peripherals

Required Experience/Skills:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Mechanism, electromechanical design experience
  • Robot Operating System ( ROS )

Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer

We are currently seeking a Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer to join our team in the development, fabrication, and testing phases for a UAV/RPAS aircraft. The successful candidate will work closely with designers, robotics/software engineers, and suppliers. The ideal candidate should be able to contribute across various engineering disciplines, and be a quick learner. The candidate will be primarily responsible for mechanical development of various projects.

Required:

  • Bachelor/Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Must be hands-on engineer, and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Experience with RC aircraft/helicopter/multicopter desired.
  • Experience in design/fabrication of mechanisms, structural components, and robotic systems.
  • Highly experienced in using CAD design software CATIA/NX/SolidWorks.
  • Experience with composite design, and fabrication techniques.
  • Past experience with rapid prototyping techniques, and low volume production
  • Must have an inventive aptitude coupled with a detail orientated character.

Desired:

  • Manufacturing experience in RC aircraft/robotics or aerospace industry.
  • Prior aircraft design, and stress analysis experience is a plus.

Electrical Engineer

About the Job:

Responsibilities include working closely with the engineering design team, and be responsible for the design/assembly of circuitry, sensor assemblies, and completion of prototype systems. Need to have experience with generating engineering instructions, technical documentation, and directing technicians.

 

Required Experience/Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering
  • BA/MS electrical engineering degree
  • Eagle PCB design software.
  • Analog / Digital design
  • Design of high voltage powers systems
  • CAD software
  • Practical knowledge of using hand-tools and instruments

Sr. Mechanical Engineer

You will work closely with the rest of the AERDRON development team to make sure that we are delivering the very best engineered solutions.

 

Responsibilities:

Primary duties will include developing mechanical concepts for UAV systems.  Job duties include detail design of structural components, performing stress analysis, thermal analysis, and performing validation test to verify the design. Prior experience with generating drawings for components using industry standards required. Prior experience in prototype design, and rapid manufacturing techniques needed. Experience with UAVs highly desired. Need to generate documentation for internal mechanical design reviews,  and customer presentations.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • BS/MS/Phd Degree in related engineering field
  • Minimum of  5 years or equivalent of performance in a progressive technical capacity in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Full understanding and demonstrated knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles.
  • Demonstrated competency in solving Mechanics & Kinematics problems.·         Experience with FEA tools such as ANSYS/FEMAP/PATRAN required.
  • Demonstrated competency in solving Thermodynamics problems.
  • Experienced in solving basic structural dynamics problems.
  • Proficient with CAD software Solidworks/NX/CATIA required.

Job Qualifications:

As part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, the candidate will participate hands-on in the full software life-cycle, from concept through implementation, integration all the way to flight test.

  • Define, analyze and review software requirements to meet defined and anticipated product requirements.
  • Collaborate with other enigneering disciplines in planning, design and development of systems to ensure software and hardware performance and compatibility.
  • Design software architecture and interfaces and implement functionality using a model-based approach.
  • Write test plans, conduct unit testing, integration, and system-level tests.

Engineering Intern

Brief Description

  • Entry level engineering support activities.
  • Supports general engineering and design activities in one or more of the following areas: Electrical, Mechanical, Aeromechanical, Software, Systems, and Manufacturing.
  • Performs engineering design using CAD or other software design/development tools.
  • Performs analysis of designs utilizing FEA tools.
  • Supports prototype & pre-production builds.

Job Requirements

  • Requires engineering studies related to aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, or computer science degrees.
